Brett brings decades of leadership experience to the energy sector, combining executive command, operational discipline, and investor alignment. Prior to founding and leading Nexus Petroleum Group, he spent more than 20 years in senior roles within U.S. Special Operations and the Intelligence Community, operating across complex and high-risk environments throughout Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas. This background shaped a leadership philosophy centered on clarity of strategy, disciplined execution, and accountability at every level principles that now guide the firm's approach to energy development.

Brett has led the formation and scaling of multiple operating and holding companies, overseeing acquisitions, joint ventures, and integrated operating structures aligned with private equity standards. He has direct CEO experience across energy and industrial entities and has worked closely with, and been mentored by, seasoned private equity and venture capital CEOs. This exposure has reinforced a board-level, investor-first mindset focused on capital discipline, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation.

Brett is recognized for his ability to align operational performance with investor expectations. He works closely with family offices, high-net-worth investors, and institutional partners to ensure transparency, governance, and execution remain tightly integrated. Yousef has led and advised on numerous acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic business development initiatives, partnering closely with founders, boards, and institutional capital providers to originate, structure, and execute transactions. His experience spans the full deal lifecycle, including sourcing, valuation, due diligence, capital structuring, negotiations, and post-transaction integration, with a consistent focus on downside protection, governance, and long-term value creation for stakeholders.

Previously, Yousef was a Senior Investment Advisor at National Securities Corporation, where he co-managed a discretionary quantitative portfolio for high-net-worth and institutional clients using proprietary systematic strategies. Earlier in his career, he served as Vice President at Citigroup Global Markets Inc., advising clients on complex risk management solutions and contributing to multiple IPOs and capital markets transactions as part of Citi's Investment Banking and Capital Markets group.

Yousef holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Millersville University and is known for his ability to operate at the intersection of investment discipline, transaction execution, and board-level decision-making, aligning management teams and capital partners around sustainable growth and disciplined risk management.
